USM is a composition collective, focused on writing and producing music for films, advertisements, documentaries, exhibitions, and other events. Founded a decade ago by Pepe Sanchez and Sarah Perkins, USM collaborates with a wide range of top musicians and singers in order to deliver soundtracks that are immersive and diverse.
We are highly versatile in our musical style, and able to evoke a range of atmospheres. Our creative process often involves improvisation, the use of polyrhythms, and incorporates a diversity of cultural influences.
USM music has been featured in various documentaries with social themes, including Spanish Dream, Permitido El Paso, and De Mayor Quiero Construir Como Tú.
We are available to deliver original music, specific to the needs of your project or film.

Sarah Perkins, London
Sarah Perkins was a music scholar at The Purcell School of Music where she studied clarinet and began composing. She went on to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Griffith University (Australia) and Queensland University. Oliver Knussen once claimed that she had a gift for writing melodic ideas and it is her experience with many years of playing the clarinet that has helped her to develop a style of composition that perfectly complements the music she writes with Jose Sanchez. She has now been working with Pepe in UnoSound for 12 years and together they have written pieces for documentaries including “Spanish Dream”, “20 years Recetas Urbanas”, “Instante”, “Wish” and many others.
